As we informed you a few weeks ago, the Verizon Hub is available for purchase starting today (Feb 1st). The Hub is an all-in-one device that combines VoIP calling, cordless handset, speakerphone, and a 7" WVGA touch display which can access weather forecasts, news, traffic, messages, contacts, calendar, chaperone, and vcast. The device must be connected to a broadband connection (DSL, Cable, FiOS, etc.) by means of a router with CAT5 Ethernet or WiFi 802.11b/g. Interesting enough, only Verizon Wireless customers are allowed to purchases the hub, which cost $199.99 with a 2 year contract or $269.99 with a 1 year contract (both after $50 rebate). The monthly access fee of $34.99 includes unlimited VoIP calling throughout the U.S., data service, and messaging. For those needing more than one handset, you can purchase additional wireless handsets for $79.
